Breast lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia and the nipples are taken to the planned area during the operation. The breast tissue is shaped. At this stage, while tissue is removed from the large breasts, a silicone prosthesis is placed on the small breasts. Then, if necessary, extra skin is removed from the area and the operation is completed.

The common complaints of women with this condition are that the breasts have sufficient volume but are sagging, the breasts lose their firmness and become hollow and sagging, the nipples point downwards due to sagging, and one breast is firm and beautiful while the other breast is soft and drooping.

Look at your breasts in the mirror. If your nipples are above the inframammary fold, everything is fine. However, if it is at the level of this line, you have “mid” breast sagging, and if it is below this line, you have “advanced” breast sagging. This indicates that you may one day need breast lift surgery. Today, there is no non-surgical method to correct breast sagging.

After the operation, 2-3 days of dressing is sufficient. As your breasts heal, a support bra is worn on the 1st day after surgery to both support your breasts and reduce swelling. Usually a small thin tube is placed under the tissue.

The purpose of this tube is to allow leaks that may occur after surgery to be discharged more easily. Although it varies from person to person, these tubes are removed on the 2nd day. Pain treatment is sufficient for 48 hours. Average hospital stay is 1 day. It will be good to have someone accompany you after the operation and on the way home. At your discharge, you will be prescribed painkillers, antibiotics and scar reducers.

It usually takes 7 days for a patient to return to normal work life.
